Columbus - “This is a serious sentence for a serious crime,” Auditor of State Dave Yost said. “I applaud the judge’s tough stand – crimes in which public officials abuse their trust are crimes against every one of us.”

The former utility clerk was sentenced today in the Brown County Court of Common Pleas.

The Auditor of State is one of five independently elected offices under the Ohio Constitution. Auditor Yost’s office is responsible for auditing over 5,600 state and local government agencies. Staff also works in partnership with state and local governments to deal effectively with financial, accounting and budgetary issues.
