Tuesday, April 14, 2015

Columbus – Life Safe Security Corporation, a Tennessee-based emergency response service provider, owes the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) more than $25,000, according to an examination released today by Auditor of State Dave Yost.

Auditors tested 399 services provided during the period January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2011 and identified 161 services that lacked required documentation. These services were used to determine a total overpayment in relation to all services provided during the period.

With interest in the amount of $1,946.21, Life Safe Security Corporation owes ODM $25,627.03. The provider indicated that it plans to initiate a repayment process with ODM upon today’s release.

Life Safe Security Corporation provided more than 74,000 services to 3,114 Ohio Medicaid recipients during the examination period and received reimbursement of nearly $3.4 million.

Emergency response services are composed of telecommunications equipment, an emergency response center and a medium for two-way, hands-free communication between the recipient and the emergency response center.
