Auditing And Accounting
The professional skills of our financial audit team are essential to the Auditor of State’s commitment to hold government accountable for the way public dollars are managed and spent. Each year, our staff identifies millions of dollars in wasteful or illegal government spending. Through performance audits and other services, we provide valuable training, consultation and recommendations that help government agencies and school systems operate more efficiently. As a member of our audit team, you can play an integral role in this process, while gaining experience needed for long-term career success.
Auditing is just one component of the Auditor of State’s overall mission to ensure accountability and transparency on behalf of Ohio taxpayers. We also lead dozens of criminal investigations each year and help put white-collar criminals behind bars. We also work with local officials to make public records more accessible and we serve as consultants to local governments and school systems facing financial challenges.
