Audit Search FAQ's

What is the importance of online audit reports?

Ohioans can conveniently review the financial information of units of state and local government such as schools, cities, counties, etc., to see how their tax dollars are being spent.

How do I search?

by the name of the government such as "City of Columbus,"
by type of government, such as a "school district",
by type of report such as a "performance audit",
by county of origin, by fiscal year covered by the audit *,
by the year the audit was released, or by the day that the audit was released.

* For biennial audits, search under the later year.

How far back can I go?

The website will contain audits and other reports issued after January 1, 2000. Reports issued prior to January 1, 2000 are not accessible online but can be requested using this link Report Request Inquiry.

What if I want to check a particular section of the audit?

Each report contains bookmarks which lead directly to the section desired, such as the compliance section.

Do I need special software to search?

Audits can be viewed through a standard Acrobat© Reader™ program. A link on the search page allows for you to download the most updated program within minutes.
