Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)

Fiscal Year 2012 (July 1, 2010 – June 30, 2012)

The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) of the Ohio Auditor of State’s Office for fiscal 2012 is now available. This report has been prepared in accordance with Accounting Principles Generally Accepted in the United States of America (GAAP), as prescribed in pronouncements of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).

It is a comprehensive presentation of the Office’s financial and operating activities during the past fiscal year. The Office also follows the recommendations of the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for presenting the information contained within this report and participates in the GFOA’s review program for the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

The Auditor of State’s Office is a proprietary operation for purposes of financial reporting. The Office charges fees to local governments and state agencies for services provided. Results of the Office’s operations are reported in a manner similar to the private sector.

Certificate of Achievement
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States of America and Canada (GFOA) awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the Auditor of State of Ohio for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011. The Certificate of Achievement is a prestigious national award that recognizes conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government financial reports.

A Certificate of Achievement is valid for a period of one year only. We believe our current report continues to conform to the Certificate of Achievement program requirements, and we are submitting it to the GFOA.
